Auckland’s Best Pho

This past week I’ve been down and out with a stinky cold and all I’ve wanted to do is warm up with a hot bowl of Pho!

Jam packed with fresh herbs, scallions, onions, bean sprouts, tender beef strips (Pho Bo) or chicken (Pho Ga) on top of a slow cooked more-ish broth and rice noodles – it’s my fave winter warm up.

Being a creature of habit I tend to stick with the places I know, so thought it was time to spread my wings and try somewhere new. With a little help from the I Recommend Facebook Group I’ve put together a must try list for Auckland Pho lovers!

Le Vietnamese Kitchen – Ponsonby

A recommendation from fellow I Recommend gal Laura Haden, Le Vietnamese Kitchen is also possibly my FAVE Vietnamese restaurant in Auckland! Not only do they have great Pho but they have a cute little courtyard hidden out the back if you’re wanting something a little more intimate.

Try It Out - Pho Bo
Try It Out – Otahuhu

This one may be a bit of a trek for some, but I promise you it is totally worth the journey! If you’re not down for a bowl of Pho their Banh Mi is said to be one of the most authentic in Auckland!

Hello Mister – Auckland CBD

The hunt for Pho during lunch breaks has people lining up out the door at Hello Mister! The Auckland CBD locations are super convenient and you can trust you’ll get a fresh flavorsome meal.

Auckland Night Market Pho
Auckland Night Markets – Pakuranga

Anny Ma! I love you for this recommendation – I often visit the Auckland Night Markets but have never even thought to try the Pho there. As you can tell by my face I was pretty stoked with this $8 purchase!

Pho Viet – Auckland CBD

I am yeeeeet to try this hidden gem, but a number of people have recommended Pho Viet. Located in the IMAX food court off Queen Street, I know where exactly I’ll be going for dinner the next time the bf and I catch a movie.

Viet Kitchen Pho
Viet Kitchen – Dominion Road

Viet Kitchen should definitely be your go-to if you’re in a rush and wanting to pick something up to go. Super quick and they pop the soup in a separate container so your noodles and beef don’t over cook or get soggy on the journey home.

Ramen Takara – Ponsonby

This place deserves a special mention – although not pho, their noodle soups, chicken karaage and noodle salads are to die for!
